Precautions for using tents

2022-10-08

Three aspects should be paid attention to when using tents:

1. Selection of tent sites

The support of the tent should be selected in a relatively flat area, the entrance and exit should be facing away from the air outlet, and the ground should be relatively dry.

2. Support and fix.

After the tent is rolled out, the four corners of the inner tent should be fixed first, so that the bottom of the tent can be laid flat on the ground and fixed firmly. When supporting the outer tent, in addition to the reliable connection with the tent pole, special attention should be paid to pulling the leash to make the outer tent taut, so that the outer tent can achieve the best rain resistance. Skirted tents should be pressed with soft or sandy soil;In winter, snow pressure can also be used, which is more conducive to wind protection.

The fixing of the ground nails should have an inclination angle, and the angle should be 35-45 degrees. The distance and direction of the ground nails into the ground should be the same axis as the reining rope. The reining rope and the ground nails form a 90-degree angle. This will help to achieve the maximum force strength.

In the order of fixing, attention should be paid to the corresponding fixing, for example: first the left front corner, then the right rear corner, the right front corner, and the left rear corner. After the entire tent is fixed, adjust the pulling rope to make the pulling force in all aspects consistent. After propping up the tent, check the distance between the inner and outer tents. If they are attached together, it will affect the rain and dew protection and should be adjusted.

3. Dig a drain

When camping, if it is raining, the procedure of digging the ditch must be omitted. The drainage ditch should be close to the outer edge of the tent. If the tent does not have a skirt, the location of the ditch should be convenient for the water flowing from the outer tent to enter the ditch. Drainage ditches are dug around the tent so that the accumulated water can be drained smoothly.
